On Sunday's BBC Northwest Politics Show, Mike Prendergast, Conservative candidate for West Lancashire, was interviewed by Annabel Tiffin.

She asked him if West Lancashire Reform could cause him a loss of votes as predicted in the rest of the UK in the next general election.

He said that Reform in West Lancashire were an unknown quantity as they did not stand many candidates in the local borough election, which is true. He added that he felt that West Lancashire Reform posed little threat as Reform does not have a full set of policies across the political spectrum.

Said Reform UK candidate Simon Evans: "This is not only an ignorant statement but an ironic one too from a Tory PPC, ironic because after 14 years in power, none of us have a clue what the Tory policies are except to change Prime Minister every few months (something they are considering again presently), allow open borders the ruin the UK economy and clinging on to power at all costs.

He's now lodged a complaint about Prendergast's statement going unchallenged and has demanded the right to reply on the show.

He said: “Reform has the most comprehensive policy offers of all the political parties in the UK.

Added Evans: "This is very a comprehensive plan and Mike Prendergast was completely wrong to say we don’t have a plan, maybe he didn’t do his homework!"

He concluded: "Let’s sort out a public event in West Lancashire so the people who count, the citizens of West Lancashire who have been ignored, can hear first hand everyone’s plans for West Lancashire and let’s see if they come up to the mark, if they have the courage to speak directly to the people and let’s see whose manifesto is comprehensive and far reaching over the Political spectrum.
